- When your wort is coming up to a boil, keep your eye on it. Boil-overs can make a mess, but they can also harm your stove or yourself if you are not careful.
- Take extreme care in handling glass carboys. These containers are heavy when full, slippery when wet, and extremely dangerous when broken.
- It’s customary to toast your newest batch with a pint from the previous brew, but save most of your celebratory drinking for after everything is clean. Neither your beer’s quality nor your safety is improved by over-indulgence.
For more information on brewing safety, Brew Your Own magazine posted a great article, check it out here.
Advanced Brew Class ($35 – 4 hrs)
This class is great for anyone looking for the hands-on experience. We’ll give you an up-close-and-personal look at a “continuous sparge” all-grain setup and brew day. This is ideal for the experienced extract or brew-in-a-bag brewer who is ready to upgrade but wants to see the process from start to finish in person. Participants will see an all-grain brew day using a 3-tier brewing system.
